For me, the Sacred Masculinity is divided into two aspects, the physical and the mental. Masculinity arises when the two match each other perfectly -something that is essentially unattainable. The two aspects are knotted together, like Yin and Yang of sorts. The Ancient Greek had a similar world view, where a perfect (male) body represented a perfect mind or intellect.
The Physical Aspect: In a world ruled by gravity, it’s not strange that physical strength is the most revered trait of all. A man who defies gravity has the most developed physique that testosterone can build. Hard, bulging muscles in a constant interplay of flexing and relaxing to always meet the challenges of this world, to always keep him standing tall and upright against the storm. His body has ample body hair, and thick beard growth to withstand the elements. His armpits and groin excrete a volatile concoction of musk and other phermones to assert his presence. The furrows on his brow go deep, framing a gaze of burning passion and determination. His big balls literally produce Greatness; the testosterone that has built his perfect body, and his Seed. With an massive, vascular cock he spreads all that Greatness with awesome force. A fountain from which can be drawn the white, pearly nectar of the gods. Either physically or metaforically, all men suckle his cock, craving his gift. The Ambrosia of Olympus, the everflowing Honeymead av Valhalla. Pure potential, transmuted into physical substance. The kind of nourishment a mother’s teet can never provide.
The Mental Aspect: The mental side of masculinity is the ever burning desire, and presence. The passion that burns like a tall red flame. The urge to prevail, and conquer without so much as moving a muscle. This presence… all men who stand before him love him. Reassured by him, they seek his guidance and leadership because it gives their lives meaning and purpose. He rules them with immense kindness, patience, and with impeccable judgment. He is the protector, the idol who all good men strive to impress and mimic. He has the ability to literally stare down his adversaries, and make them cower before him, and then they lay down their arms and follow him. His unyielding will is like a wild beast that women seek to tame and break in, yet will never succeed. He Is A God. (Ben)
Hey Ben, I too marvel at the mythical gods you are describing and at the same time, a comment of a mate this morning about the dominance of big cocks in masculine ideology being intimidating, has made my mental aspect of masculinity look for the balance. I think I found it with the line “With a massive, vascular cock he spreads all that Greatness with awesome force” and I realised that a god with a small vascular cock can spread with equal force or even, that some massive cocks may only dribble over and becum cloaked in their own greatness. (Also a sight to behold…). So although the mythological beauty embraces the strength and size of body and cock as awesome, thinking this through, is an awesome body and humble cock, that shoots pearly whites into the dark night sky, not equally godlike yet with a touch of humility, a reassuring presence of balance between physical and mental godliness, knotted together. We are all gods remember, not mythical gods, we find penises sacred and search all men for their godly balance. – Stephen
that video was so HOT, what a gorgeous man!
It wasn’t long after I came out, that I realized that, at least in my view, man on man sex was significantly different than regular straight sex. There was something…. I couldn’t quite put my finger on it… something special about it.
I have spent the last 25yrs studying the social, political, medical, economic and ecclesiastic minutiae in regard to gay sex and gay culture in general. As it happens, I’m presently reading a very interesting book about gay spirituality through the centuries, that is actually on this site. (Thank you Mr. Cox!) It’s called “The Masculine Cross”. As I have found in so many other areas of my research, gay sex has always been painted in far more spiritual terms than straight sex. Until Mainstream Religion Inc.
With or without Religion Inc.’s acceptance of this fact, the sacredness of man on man sex shines through, even in the 21st Century, when the broader society takes every opportunity to denigrate it. I believe it is our duty to discuss homosex in spiritual terms, so that the ignorance of society becomes accustomed to seeing gay sex in a far more positive light.
We are the light bearers. In this time of devolution, we are called to spread the spirit of Sacred Masculinity.
And to those few of you who fail to grasp the concept, I would say that it says more about you, than it does the concept of the Sacred Male Mythos.

Footnote to doubters AndyX and Billy – wanking all over the word salad is fun not arrogance and between the lines/leaves you find masculinity is joyfully, blissfully phallocentric and at the same time there is so much more…..
that video was hot, beautiful picture stephen!!
My favourite Greek hero is Odysseus, described in one source (quoted on Wikipedia) as “. . .tough, crafty, cheerful, of medium height, eloquent, and wise.” He’s definitley a warrior, but his fame was based on his cunning.
It’s interesting how differently different cultures configure male divinities. In Java, the most powerful and divine “man” is old, androgynous, flatulent, and asmatic. He is the most powerful man in Javanese mythology. As you can see in the photo of how he is represented in shadow-puppet theater, not a hunk.
Thanks to Ben and the whole of this site for the positive reminder of the beauty, power and goodness of being men, not often heard these days in our society. Yes, men are the god that I worship with wonder.
So funny – do you beliebe this nonsense
No !
It’s an arrogant masturbation word salad , as pretentious as it is, absurd.
You neglected to include the words “for me” in your statement.
Peace and brotherhood.
