I am not convinced by the statement: “masturbation is not the happiest form of sexuality”. Maybe that was the case for Robert Anton Wilson, but does not apply to all men. Left alone to relax and enjoy the experience, masturbation allows a man to pleasure himself as only he knows best. Gone is any “performance anxiety” from being with another person. Gone is the need to please your sexual partner. Gone are any boundaries which another may impose on your sexual expression. Admittedly, masturbation is void of bodily contact with another and the intimacy from sharing the sexual act. But masturbation allows the mind to go where it wants, often using photos, videos or toys to stimulate arousal. While your hands explore whichever parts of your body you choose, your mind can visualise whatever acts you fancy and with whomever you want. And you can switch, swap and prolong your fantasies as much as you like. When age (over 75) and the years show you that you are no longer what you were, that you have changed and you see life from a more distant point of view, you notice that sexuality has changed in you, and that your points of view have also changed.
