A story is like water
that you heat for your bath.
It takes messages between the fire
and your skin. It lets them meet,
and it cleans you!
The body itself is a screen
to shield and partially reveal
to light that’s blazing
inside your presence.
Water, stories, the body,
all the things we do, are mediums
that hide and show what’s hidden.
Study them,
and enjoy this being washed
with a secret we sometimes know,
and then not.

Rubber Duckie Lyrics
[Verse 1]
Oh, Rubber Duckie, you’re the one
You make bath time lots of fun
Rubber Duckie, I’m awfully fond of you
Bo bo bo de oh
Rubber Duckie, joy of joys
When I squeeze you, you make noise
Rubber Duckie, you’re my very best friend, it’s true
In Melbounre we are about to lose our longstanding Japanese Onsen. After 25 years council regulations have made it difficult to continue. Beautifully kept by a mother and then daughter, the Japanese-Australian staff are always professional with the highest standards. A place where a time stops and men (and the women in a separate section upstairs) wash, bathe, soak and sauna in a brotherly nude state lacking in any sense of shyness, luxuriating in the warmth and camaraderie. Never a visit without an amazing discussion with the total honesty of being naked together in a warm confined space. Energing back into the world feeling a million bucks. It’s loss will be a sad loss cum the end of December this year when it closes its doors for the last time.
