I am attracted to the hypothesis that consciousness pervades everything, with each of us being a unique expression of that one consciousness. Traditional science would claim that consciousness is a product of the brain. In contrast, a spiritual understanding may be that universal consciousness uses our brains to flow through and expressive itself, rather like radio-waves flow through a radio receiver. As such, our minds, spirits and bodies are all an expression of universal consciousness or divinity. As a man, this understanding serves to sanctify my whole self, including my body and all its physical acts.
