Philippe Meste, the provocative French artist, revisited his conceptual project “Spermcube” in June 2006, unveiling it at the Z33 Art Center in Hasselt, Belgium. Known for pushing societal and artistic boundaries, Meste’s work explores taboos around sexuality and bodily materials. The project, first conceived in the 1990s, originally aimed to collect a literal ton of semen through public and voluntary contributions, transforming an intimate substance into an industrially quantified medium, while challenging viewers’ perceptions of intimacy, anonymity, and bodily fluids as legitimate artistic materials. The Spermcube, a monumental encapsulation of human biology, posed questions around the role of taboo in art and the intersections of biology, culture, and masculinity. By rendering semen as an object of public display, Meste disrupted conventional frameworks that separate the personal and the collective, forcing viewers to confront their own assumptions about the body, reproduction, and artistic materials. The Spermcube stands as an audacious piece of conceptual art that examines our cultural discomfort with human physicality, redefining how we interpret boundaries in art and expression.
Cum is the best all natural lube, so I’m thinking massive party. Everyone just reach in and grab handfuls, let’s jerk off with it, fuck each other with it, and rejoice in the extraordinary power that comes from the seed of thousands of men. Everyone leaves totally covered in cum without exaggeration.
As a member of The Phallic Brotherhood I would love to immerse myself into all that cum and be bathed by the brotherhood of sperm
How many loads are in a cubic meter?
That’s a lot of spunk brothers.
Peace and HaPenis to all our brothers and those that donated their loads to this artwork.
Nice work men!
Can be justifiably called a pile of old wank in every sense!
How long did it take to get 1000 litres???
That’s a huge amount!
