Rough cops—tight uniforms, mirrored shades, and the promise of dominance—were a favorite fantasy of gay artists throughout the 70s, 80s, and 90s. The “cop fantasy” turned fear into fuel, and control into kink. It flipped the script. The nightstick, the badge, the interrogating gaze—suddenly, they belonged to our desire. At the HaPenis Project, we celebrate these defiant dreams. The ones that gave us permission to want what we weren’t supposed to. The ones that taught us that fantasy is a playground—and pleasure is power.
