I am intrigued about the connection between bullfighting and the Toreador and the similarity to the Roman Mithraic cult where the rituals in the all male temple were based around a symbolic slaying of the bull by Mithras which would be acted out by men in order to progress up the ranks of the Cult. To my mind the Mithraic Temples were basically dark rooms found in every part of the Roman empire (especially where there were barracks) and a safe space for men of all social standing to meet in dark anonymity. Sound familiar to you men who have cruised back rooms? – Michael Ibateuk
