Regarding Masturbation! When clergy are consulted in the Protestant sect, there isn’t a shaming approach, but, rather an assurance that it is part of a man’s (and boys) sexual health! As a Catholic, I went to confession and was given absolution followed by Penance (focused prayers) as guidance to refrain! However, one Saturday, I confessed my sexual rendezvous! My Confessor was a Monsignor! As I confessed, he listened intently! When I finished, he told me that what I was doing was only a natural release of some pent up sensations that were only natural! I didn’t argue the point with him; but I was curious about his answer to me. He simply said that this is only natural for men! He did give me a Penance to give me the strength of my sexuality, as a man, and to use it wisely! I thanked him and said my Penance before leaving the church! I felt that a tremendous weight was lifted from me! That was 14 years ago! So, men, use your sexuality sensibly—it’s a gift to us to share properly! And, if your direction is with another willing man, then so be it!
